Good News – European Police Arrest Members of Child Pornography Network
The European Police Office, Europol, announced that they have dissolved the biggest Internet child pornography network known. They have arrested 184 people so far. They have also announced the identification of 670 people of interest.
230 underage children have been rescued in the operation, “the largest number of victims so far for this kind of investigation,” according to Europol director, Rod Wainwright. They are hoping to rescue more children soon.
The network operated in Spain, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Romania, Great Britain, Greece and the United States. In this operation, police raided 50 premises in Belgium, Britain, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden in a clampdown on a major Internet-based pedophile network. The suspects were members of an Internet forum called Boylover.net, which promoted sexual relationship between adults and children.
